We are happy for all of them because we feel like we have given them a strong foundation. They are ready.

Mr. Red is sitting in our family room. He is not afraid of anything. (July 18, 2010)
We have been giving Mr. Red extra training while he waits for His Perfect Family.
He has had a lot of freedom in our house, checking out the kitchen and family room.
He has been playing outside, going under our deck, rolling around in the shrubs with his brothers and sister
while they wait to be picked up by their new families.
The adult females are all around the puppies.
They help Jeannie by "Babysitting" and keeping the puppies in our yard
when we take them out of their play area.
(July 18, 2010)

6:00am, Friday morning. Jeannie's puppies are enjoying their last day together.
They will all be going to their new families tomorrow and Sunday.
It is bittersweet for all of us, including Jeannie, Francie, Kayla and Annie.

from the bottom of the fencing.
Let the games begin!!
They chased each other around the dog house!
(July 16, 2010)

Francie and Annie patrol the outer edges of the puppy play area every time they are outside.
(July 16, 2010)
Jeannie on the front porch. We love the multiple foot prints.
(July 16, 2010)

Jeannie laid on the porch near the puppies. She watches them from outside their play area. She may look like she is laying down asleep,
but she is listening to everything!
(July 16, 2010)

Kayla wanted to guard the front of the house today.
She keeps lookout for joggers.

Happy Eight Weeks to Jeannie's Puppies!
Our little puppies are growing into DOGS!
They are bouncing all over their play area and on our lawn.
They follow Jeannie and our adult females Francie, Kayla and Annie around
and then they stop to check out
everything on the way.
Mr. Blue is looking like
a real "Sports Dog".
Ms. Orange, Mr. Blue, and Ms. Purple
found a way out this morning
and found their mom
before they were
put back in their play area.
We found the escape route!

They have a strong foundation of love and praising, hugging and kissing from all of us
and they will be going to their new families this weekend as healthy, confident A Family Farm Labradors.
(July 14, 2010)
We hope to hear from all of our new extended families on every wonderful and silly thing they do.

Mr. Green found Annie's regular collar with her dog tags while they were playing in the flower bed.
(July 14, 2010)
Mr. Yellow and Mr. Red found a stick!
These little ones took a break from the sun
and played in the shady part of the yard.

They all played "Keep Away" with Annie's collar.
Annie never mentioned it.... She was chasing chipmunks by the woodpile.
This morning three puppies were having a "Club Meeting" inside the dog house.
We could hear alot of noise and then it started to move around as they were playing inside.
Kind of like Shake, Rattle and Roll.
The big dogs spotted a jogger and ran to the boundary line of our Pet Stop© Pet Containment system.
The puppies ran to the inside boundary of their play area and watched.
They were probably taking notes. They are so smart and beautiful!
Sunday, July 11, 2010

(June 28, 2010)

Jeannie is trying to teach them to eat "real" food.
She knows they are old enough now. (June 28, 2010)
Mr. Green got a little drink from Jeannie. She did not let it last very long.
(June 28, 2010)

Mr. Green Loves to get hugs and kisses! (June 28, 2010)

When the pups are in our house, she lays on her own dog bed, outside their sleeping area. (June 28, 2010)
Ms. Purple stays at her dish until the last piece
of puppy chow is gone!

Monday, June 21, 2010
Five weeks old today!

Oooh, I know! You want to be ours! This little one is going to be very happy! Mr. Blue is the one!
This was a busy weekend with families coming to select their little puppies.
Pups will be able to go home mid-July.

Sometimes it helps to bring in extra help
to choose the right puppy.
Many times, the puppy seems to
choose the people
before they even realize it.
Little Ms. Orange is hoping to be chosen next!
She is such a sweetie!
She is very confident and the tail never stops going.

Jeannie took all the puppies up on our hill yesterday.
The picked up leaves and ran around.
Jeannie tried to show them about playing with a stick,
but they let Annie have it. Maybe next week.
Annie tried to give Ms.Orange a little stuffed toy while Jeannie cleaned up the crew!

Mr. Blue and Ms. Purple really get "In" to their food!
Thursday, June 17, 2010
Real Food!!!!
All 7 puppies dive in for a warm dinner of baby cereal mixed with
cottage cheese.
They did not stop until the last drop was gone!

Jeannie was allowed inside the play area to "do the dishes"
and while she was cleaning up, everybody had a warm drink
to finish off their dinner.

Jeannie had to clean all the faces and paws which were full of cereal
before they all finally piled up in the corner and fell asleep.
When we brought the puppies inside they were sooooooo full!
They slept until 4:00 am, which was great for Jeannie. She gave them a good drink to hold them off until breakfast at 6:30 am.
Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Outside area is almost complete!
Annie helps Jess keep the puppies busy while Mike makes some finishing touches to their new outside play area.

Mr. Green escaped from the box and came all the way into the kitchen!
He was instantly surrounded by Kayla, Francie and Annie
while his mom stayed in the box to feed her other puppies.
They all licked him from head to toe and then we put him back!
Wednesday, June 9, 2010
All the puppies get a different colored collar so we know who they are.

Ms. Pink and Mr. Red are planning their escape to the left.
Francie is feeding her puppies and now we can see their collars.

Ms. Orange and Ms. Lavender have beautiful colors!

"Grandma" Francie is cleaning Mr. Red. He just got his identity!
Now we will be able to tell the antics of each puppy.
They will keep the same colored collar
until they go home with their new families.

We are making appointments now.

We can hear them in the whelping box. (all night long--they are in our bedroom)
Annie has been sneaking in when Jeannie goes outside.
She just wants to count the puppies and give them a quick kiss.
Kayla and Francie go in all the time now. Jeannie is fine with that.
We are noticing daily growth in these puppies.
One female is "almost" able to stay up on all four legs!
She will probably be the first one walking.
Monday, May 24, 2010

It was such a long time between puppies that
we all tried to get some sleep anywhere we could.
That was not easy with five puppies squealing and grunting the entire time.
Just before dawn, Jeannie had her sixth puppy.
10:50 pm
Black male

Francie, Annie and Kayla have to stay on the other side of the gate.
They are wondering what all the noises are from the puppies.

Jeannie wants to do this alone.
6:18 pm
Jeannie went to see Dr. Heidinger for a check up.They see at least 7 puppies, so now we are waiting.
Jeannie is in her whelping box right now.
Jess is gently rubbing Jeannie's sides to help the puppies come out.
Earlier today May 17, 2010
Jeannie might have her puppies today or tonight!
She has her brand new whelping box and is in it every second she is in the house.
Of course, her mom, Francie, and her Aunt Kayla think they should be in the box WITH Jeannie!
Jess and John got in the box to show Jeannie how nice it was. She loves it!
Poor Annie is not very happy. Jeannie keeps telling her to "go away".
That does not bother Annie. She will just go bother the cats or go outside with Mike!

Jeannie is resting up before her puppies come.
The new dog beds are very comfortable!
May 14, 2010

Pups are six weeks old!
We had photos of everyone who visited us this weekend, but have lost them.
All the pups are healthy and happy despite the fire. That was quite an eventful night!
We rescued all eight puppies and they were checked immediately by our wonderful veterinarian, Dr. Cliff Heidinger and his staff.
We will treasure these little babies for the next few days and watch them play in their new surroundings before they go to their new homes and families.
We all feel very good about their futures.

Yes, the pups are growing! Ms. Black and White's family cannot believe how big she is getting and how smart she is.
She actually was hugging her new mom! It is like she knows who is going to be her number one person.
Ms. Black and White thinks this purse could be hiding some biscuits or maybe a special toy for her!
Sunday, June 21, 2009 -- Pups are five weeks old
How lucky can we get? Yes, they wake us up at 5:30-5:45 am everyday, but having 8 little puppies telling you that they love you is pretty cool. We are soaking up the puppy kisses. Three more weeks and they are going home to their new homes!
Kayla Copacabana and Ruby Tuesday, who is the Great, Great Grandma, along with Darlin' Clementiine are supervising pups learning how to climb the stairs outside our front door.
Ms. Pink has it figured out! She is so smart!
Mr. Blue got down ahead
of her and
Ms. Purple is next.
They are in a fenced-in area full of grass and things to explore.
Ruby Tuesday and Kayla Copacabana are showing Mr. Blue around their new fenced-in yard.
Now if the sun shines more, we can have more outside time to play!
All the outside air makes a puppy thirsty! Francie helps out.
Mr. Yellow, Mr. Red and Mr. Green stop for a drink before the next game begins.
When we can't go outside, let's just get an inside soccer game going!
Mr. Yellow, Ms. Black&White, and Mr. Blue love this game!
If you don't feel like soccer, Ron Weasley, our cat will entertain the troops.
Ms. Orange and Ms. Pink know he is a gentle cat. He actually loves dogs!!!
Ron W. gives Mr. Green a "cat scan" for the day.
Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Pups have moved downstairs. They are getting lots of exercise running around in the kitchen with Annie.
They get to have "recess" in our kitchen.
When the days are warmer, we will let them play outside.
Ms. Pink is ready to play with Annie.
Annie says "Let's play!"
She is only a puppy herself, so this is cool!
The little puppies gang up on her and climb all over her. She is very gentle at everything she does with them. We are watching the whole time!
Ms. Purple does what Annie used to do to her own mom.
The pups are playing rough, but Annie is very patient with them, just like Kayla was with her.
Ms. Purple and Mr. Red have found one of the toys that Annie brought to them.
Looks like the other pups are coming over to get in the game!
Sunday, June 14, 2009
Francie's pups are 4 weeks old! Wow, that went fast! Now the fun begins.
We are feeding them a tasty combination of baby cereal and cottage cheese. They don't leave the dish until the last piece is gone. They are so busy eating that you can only hear the little slurping sounds.
We have them running back and forth across the kitchen to us whistling and clapping our hands.
They run to us and get picked up and kissed.
Well, Hello Ms. Pink! You came right to me when I got to your house!
Ms. Pink is Perfect for my family! They are all going to love her!
Mr. Blue's new family can't wait to take him home!
He said he wants to be on your Facebook right now!
We love Mr. Red! We have a cool name picked out for him too!
Mr. Red may be going to a few soccer games and walks around town.

Mom, can he sleep in my bed? Mr. Red is learning to run to his new family when they whistle.

Ms. Purple and Mr. Green found their new families tonight. It is a happy time for all of us.
Choosing a new puppy is sooooooooo hard!
They are all so cute!
Ms. Purple is happy in the arms of her new "mom" and "dad".
Sometimes you have to get
that "special" kiss on the cheek
to tell you it is the one you want!
Mr. Green is practicing on his new mom.
Mr. Green has his new family!
Puppies ate baby cereal for the first time tonight. Francie wants them to get big and strong, so she is telling us to start giving them something extra. She still lets them drink, but not for long.
Francie and Jeannie found out that whatever cereal the pups leave behind is available! Not a bad deal.
Mr. Blue is helping with the clean up while Ms. Orange is getting a drink from Francie.
Thursday, June 11, 2009
You are the one I am going to love forever!
Such a little lady! She's a poser. We have to find a better hat.
Sunday, June 7, 2009
Puppies are three weeks old today! They are still in their whelping box, which is still in our bedroom.
They barked and growled at each other ALL night last night!
Francie now gets in to feed them and then gets OUT and gets her sleep on the outside of the box.
When she is out of the box the puppies "usually" quiet down.

Francie's pups have Tripled their weight! We weighed each one last night.
They were full of milk and very sleepy, so it was easy to do. The digital scale helps.
The eyes are ALL open!
Now they are standing, walking around and kind of falling down sometimes, but definitely looking like little dogs now!
They even howl sometimes!
That big white puppy is Annie!
She was allowed to get in and snuggle while Francie fed the pups.
We added taller sides to the box after this photo was taken.
It was a good thing, because as usual, we have some puppies that are trying to escape!

Puppies are two weeks old today! Francie is much more relaxed with everyone.
She even lets the other dogs look at her puppies.
Their eyes are starting to open.
They are trying to walk.
Annie still wants to say "Hello" when we have visitors.
She just charms
herself right in.
Vinnie and Cooper are curious.
This puppy is totally relaxed!

Francie has been waking us up everyday between 4:30 and 5:00 am.
Her pups are growing and demanding more from her, so she is very hungry!
She runs downstairs with the rest of the dogs and goes outside briefly.
She is always the first one back and is getting pretty demanding herself.
She barks until we give her a dish of food.
Then she stays downstairs for a little bit before going back upstairs to "the kids".
This morning we saw her curled up next to the whelping box, while her pups were asleep on the inside.
Sunday May 24, 2009 One week old and we have visitors.
"I've never seen Labradors so small! They are soooooo soft! This one is licking my hand."
It is hard to imagine
that this tiny puppy
will grow up to be
about 75-85 pounds.
Annie was a little worried about those babies. She kept leaning away
from them. Maybe if she could just get closer and figure out what these things are!
Annie is only 4 months old, but she looks and feels like a "big dog" next to the pups.
Annie is still a puppy herself. She needs some reassurance too.
After the puppies left the room and went back upstairs, Clementine and Vinnie offered our friends a stuffed animal and a favorite toy.

Pups were born six days ago and there is still no sleep for the humans. Francie lays down in her whelping box and the little puppies get themselves hooked up to her, drink and fall asleep---most of them!
There are at least two, that even while they are drinking, make all kinds of noise that keeps us wondering if they are "ok". When the lights go on, we see everything looks fine, so we try to go back to sleep again. (and again and again)
Francie brings a little stuffed animal back every time she comes upstairs. Those of you who met our dogs know that they love stuffed animals! She must be training them early.

Pups are 4 days old and gaining weight. Francie and the pups sleep upstairs in their whelping box, complete with "pig rail", to keep them safe. This helps Francie spread out to the edges, but no pups can be hurt by getting caught underneath. We are constantly checking them day and night.

Francie delivers eight healthy puppies.
We wanted to make sure all the puppies were fed, so we put four in a box to stay warm, while the other four got to drink.
We ended up with 4 boys, 4 girls--all black.
They started at 10:24am and finished at 9:05pm.

5:45 am Francie decided the downstairs bathroom would be the best and most private place to have her pups, so we spent all day Sunday with her.
We had a nice new box with towels inside to keep her pups warm.
After she tried to climb inside of it, we decided to put all her babies next to her and they were able to drink and be warm with their mom.
This first pup was born at 10:24am.
Her last pup was born at 9:05pm that night.
We were half way finished at this point.
The pups figured they needed a hot drink.
Words cannot express how grateful we are
to our wonderful veterinarian.
Dr. Cliff Heidinger and his wife, Karen, met us at the animal hospital Sunday night because of their love of animals and genuine concern for Francie.
We know we have a very special doctor who truly cares about animals.
Dr. and Mrs. Heidinger gently checking Francie. Dr. Heidinger took x-rays of Francie and could see that she still had two puppies to be born.
He was correct and we delivered two strong males after we got back home.

May 16, 2009 11:00 pm the night before the pups were born, Francie decided to get onto one of the couches. She felt it would be a nice cozy spot to have her pups.
We had to get her off and into her whelping box upstairs for the night.
Francie and her sister, Kayla were discussing the new litter.
They used to like to sit by the window in the morning and just "talk".
Now Francie has her pups and is busy taking care of them. She will have to miss those morning "talks" for a few weeks until the pups can go outside to play.

With just about 2 weeks to go, it was getting a little harder for Francie
to get on the chair these days!

Lots of visitors! We did lots of "dress-up". Labradors love people and LOVE getting dress up. We have hats and outfits for many photo shoots! You can see some of our outfits at the top of this page.
Puppies are starting to ease into eating puppy chow. They have a special combination of a little puppy chow, mixed with hard boiled egg and baby cereal. Sounds yucky, but they make short work of it! Gradually, we will work in more and more puppy chow. They are eating out of their own bowls (most of the time). Getting nine dishes to the floor requires FAST hands and lots of them!
