Annie had a big party today! We had cupcakes, of course.....

Gracie almost stole the dish of cupcakes from the kitchen before the party even started.

Annie was so happy when the pinata was finally smashed open!
She let the kids dive for the candy. She wanted some of the cardboard to chew!
We have added two new kittens to the house. They both got their "Lab" reports
and are very relaxed, just checking out their new home.

Annie went to the Vet
Now that Annie is 2 years old, she is getting all of her health clearances.
She was waiting in the truck after she went for X-rays on her elbows and hips.
Annie is checking on Sammy after she got her check up. Gracie was still inside the vet's office.
All three Labradors went on the same day.
Sammy, Gracie and Annie are all hugging each other on the way home.
Annie is more grown up, so she was making sure they were OK.

Annie gets the "Princess" treatment
Annie has been recovering from a cut foot.
She needs to take her medicine and get
lots of rest.
Everyone who has met Annie knows that
she is always busy outside, checking
everything and jumping off
stone walls that are too high,
chasing squirrels, goats,
sheep and chickens,
and anything else in her sight.
We have been giving her as much
special treatment as we can.
What else can you do for a "Princess"?
She LOVES the bed!!!
Duct tape helps keep the bandage on and it is one thing Annie cannot take off!
An empty milk gallon kept Annie entertained inside.

Annie got as close as she possibly could without Francie growling at her to go away.
It was very confusing for her to see Francie having her puppies.
She and Francie are like Best Friends and they do EVERYTHING outside together!

We give our Labradors lots of stuffed animals to play with.
They can stay busy with them for hours, days and sometimes weeks.
We only give them toys with cotton. It gets messy, but it saves the furniture.
Sometimes they never destroy it and sometimes not-----
Annie just received a stuffed animal. The face comes off first! (11-13-10) 
There was a noise-maker inside this lamb.
Annie was determined to get it out.
She made short work of this toy.
We had to throw away the noise-maker
before she chewed it up.

Annie got to kiss the puppies! And she did Great!
Annie has been trying to get these puppies to herself. Every time Annie gets in the whelping box, Kayla runs in and chases her out!
Today was Annie's time to get it out of her system. She knew exactly what to do! Kayla was on the sidelines, just in case Annie got too excited.
We had Aunt Francie right next to Annie. The real fun for Annie will be when these puppies are able to run around and play with her! (11-13-10)

Jeannie, Francie and Annie were playing outside while Kayla was inside having her puppies.
Annie found a great squishy ball that she can hold in her mouth and bark with!

Annie has been busy catching wildlife!
Carmine, our little orange cat has been bringing in live mice for our dogs.
Can you see the rug lifted up in the middle?
That is just one of the places the mouse ran to for shelter
before Annie scooped it up in her mouth!
We opened all the doors to the living room and got Annie outside with her latest catch.
Mike then took the mouse away and threw it past the rock wall.
This past holiday weekend we had a mouse on Saturday night,
a chipmunk on Sunday night, a mouse again on Monday, and Tuesday.
The chipmunk involved ALL the furniture being moved ALL OVER THE PLACE!
Now Annie lays patiently by the cat door and waits for Carmine to bring her a new pet of her own!
Too bad we have to always take them away!
We are very grateful Annie is so quick at catching the little critters or they would be living in our house.

"Diesel" is Annie's big brother and also Stella Luna's big brother. Kayla is the mom.
The following photos and note came from Diesel's family.
"Diesel is a great dog. As you can tell he loves the water and loves to run. He and his big brother Shelby play all day.
Diesel is a big baby, he still sneaks up on our bed at night, has to have a chew toy in his mouth most of the time and is a little afraid of the dark.
He loves to look out the window and watch all the birds.
He always walks beside me when I’m out on the tractor.
He likes to go for long walks in the woods and usually finds some mud to walk through."

We gave everyone a bath out on the driveway.
Annie was waiting patiently,
while Kayla, Francie and Jeannie got their bath.
They carried on, while she just watched quietly.

Annie turned out to be the "Best Behaved", which surprised us all! (September 2010)

Annie has added "Frog catcher" to her skills. We noticed her jumping in and out of some tall grasses
up on the hill. The next thing we saw was a large frog leg hanging out of her mouth!
She kept herself busy flipping it up into the air for quite a while.
We found the frog later in the house on the bedroom floor.
Maybe it was a "gift".
